Where has the time gone?

Wow - I can't believe that it's been about a week since I last posted. Honestly, where has the time gone. I've been so busy getting the kids ready to go back to school and then trying to get myself back onto some kind of routine that I haven't had any time to create. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things this week.

Here's another Halloween card for you. I created it from the new stamp set from CTMH called "Spellbound". I don't know if you can really tell from the picture but I didn't tack down the branches on the tree. What a cool effect it is. It looks like the tree is jumping right off the card.

Thanks for looking! Enjoy the day.

Happy Smiles and Spooky Smiles

Hi everyone!

My children started school today. I know most parents say that they're happy when their kids return to school. I'm not one of them. I truly feel lost and lonley without them today. This happens to me every year and within a couple of days, we're all back into a routine and I start feeling better. I still miss them but not like that first day back to school.

My card today celebrates Halloween. I can honestly say that I don't like Halloween but I do love pumpkins. I used the CTMH stamp set called "spooky smiles". I actually bought this set because I love what they did with it in the new catalog. All products are from CTMH. You can't really tell from the photo but I did paper pierce the right side of the strip of garden green.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Holiday Trinkets

Happy Monday!

Today is officially the last day of summer at the Hoagland household because the kids return to school tomorrow. Where did the summer go? I'm definitely not ready for them to go back yet.

My card today has to do with the holiday season. I absolutely love Christmas! This card is made with the new stamp set from CTMH called "Holiday Trinkets". It's a great set because it has a little bit of everything - christmas trees, snowflakes, ornaments and presents. This set could also be used for birthdays because of the presents.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Reach for the Stars

Happy Sunday!

I have no idea where the time went these past few days. Family came for the weekend and we had a party to go to last night. I didn't get home until 1am. Boy am I paying for it today. I honestly can't believe that I haven't posted in about 4 days. I've been trying to post at least Monday through Friday but somehow, time just got away from me.

Onto my card. It's from the CTMH stamp set called "Reach for the Stars." What a great boy set. There are a lot of possiblilites. This is the one that I came up with.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of you weekend.

Family Ties - Simple Card

Hi everyone!

What a crazy morning it's been. We've been running around since 8:30 with dr appointments and errands. It feels good to sit for a bit. It's a beautiful day today so we're going swimming this afternoon. My daughter wants to show me how she can swim without her goggles now - very exciting!

I call today's card a "simple card" because the only accessory that I used is ric rac. It's really just too darn adorable. The only non-CTMH items used were the copic markers I used to color her in.

Enjoy and have a great day!

Grown with Love

Happy Monday everyone!

What a nice and relaxing weekend it was. It was supposed to rain most of the weekend but it didn't happen. Saturday was absolutely beautiful. We spent the day at my sister-in-law's cottage swimming, boating and eating! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as well.

Onto my card. This card was created with the new stamp set from CTMH called "Grown with Love". What a great stamp set. The possibilites are endless. Not only is this set good for cardmaking but it great for scrapbooking also. I used the card confidence program book "Wishes" to make this card. I can't tell you how many times I've turned to this book for ideas. If you don't already have this book, you should definitely get it! It's worth every penny. This pattern is for a 7" x 5" card and it's called "On the Ball". All products are from CTMH.

Enjoy and have a great day!

Treasurers Card

Happy Friday everyone!

Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, I really love the new September SOTM from CTMH called "Treasurers". Here's the 2nd card that I made with this stamp set. I used the technique called "base and shade stamping" for the bottom flowers in the circle. What a great technique. I'm finding that I'm using it on the most recent cards I've been creating.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Treasurers

Hi everyone!

I'm back from vacation. What a great time we had visiting family. We don't get to see them nearly enough so each time we do, it's wonderful. Our niece and newphew are just about the same age as our two and they are as close as ever! I'm very grateful for that.

Anyway, onto my card for today. When I received the SOTMs for this quarter, I just fell in love with this stamp set call "Treasurers". Today and tomorrow I will be showcasing the 2 cards that I made with this stamp set.

Enjoy and have a great day!

See ya later alligator!

Hello!

We're leaving today for Viriginia to visit family. We're all very exciting! So, because we're leaving, I thought it was perfect that I showcase this card today called "See Ya Later Alligator". The CTMH stamp set that I used is called "Life's a Jungle". I stamped a leaf, from the same stamp set, on twill just for a little bit of decoration. I also used clear buttons and backed them with paper. For a bit of texture, I used my cuttlebug and ran a piece of desert sand through with one of my A2 folders. The texture reminds me of alligator skin.

Enjoy and have a great weekend! I'll be back on Thursday with a new card.

My card today is made us the CTMH stamp set called "Wishing Star". If you love stars like I do, then this stamp set is definitely for you. All products are CTMH. I made the bright yellow star pop using pop dots.

Always in my Heart

Hello to all!

It's not only hot here but it's real humid. We're going to swim at a friend's house today to cool off. Not complaints though, summer has finally arrived!

My card today is from the CTMH stamp set called "Always in my Heart". This stamp set is just too cute. I cut the flowers out to make them pop just a bit. I also used my cuttlebug - which is just LOVE - to make the outside frame. The last non-CTMH item would be the dew drops.

Enjoy and have a great day!

Back from Maine and a card

Hi everyone!

We're back from Maine. What a wonderful weekend we had. The sun was shining bright all weekend. As you can see from these pictures, the kids had a great time in the ocean boogie boarding with their dad. This mini vacation certainly made up for the vacation we took a couple of weeks ago in Maine when it rained 2 of the 3 days.

Now, onto my card. I don't have many baby stamp sets but this one is certainly a keeper. It's called "Nursery Bash" from CTMH. The only 2 things that are not from CTMH are the organdy ribbon bow and the copic markers that I used to color this adorable image.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the day!

Bird Basics

Hi!

We just got back from the movies. We went to see G Force. What an action packed and very funny movie. It is so hot and humid today that it was nice to spend time in an air conditioned theater. Of course, I just go for the popcorn and soda - YUM!

My card today was created with the stamp set called "Bird Basics". I really like this set because you can create several different birds with it. I also used "Intrinsic Backgrounds" for the scene behind my bird. I then popped the bird up with pop dots.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Happy Birthday Trees

Hi everyone!

Today was absolutely beautiful here in CT. We took advantage of this beautiful day by spending it with my sister-in-law at her cottage. The kids and I swam all day long. I also had some time to relax and read. We ended the day with a wonderful dinner and a night swim. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. Thanks Darcy!

When I got home, I started going through my cards and found this "Happy Birthday" card that I had made. I truly love this stamp set for its versatility and use it quite often.

I'm an Official Blogger (I think?!)

As of today, I'm officially starting my blog. I've gone back and forth for several months as to whether do this or not. I finally decided to take a leap of faith an go for it! I will be using my blog to post cards, scrapbook pages and paper crafts. I would love any comments you have to give (good or bad). Comments will help me grow as a stamper and I look forward to what you have to say. At first, I hope to post at least a couple times a week and then grow from there. Since I'm a little bit computer challenged, please bear with me as I work on my blog.

My first card is a "thank you" card that I designed for my daughter, Caitlin, who just turned 8 years old. She had a great birthday party that included make your own pizzas on the grill and make your own sundaes. The party was a huge hit - especially when you add in water balloons and a pinata. Let me know what you think of the card.
